AAN Leadership Weighs in on Drug Pricing Crisis

Solutions to address increasing drug prices are a top advocacy priority for American Academy of Neurology.

  • AAN President Ralph Sacco, MD, MS, FAHA, FAAN, recently co-authored an opinion piece on drug prices with David I. Daikh, MD, PhD, who serves as president of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). The ACR and the AAN are frequent partners in Washington on issues impacting cognitive specialists.

  • The piece appeared in The Hill, a Capitol Hill newspaper, and urges Congress to support proposals that increase choice and competition for Medicare patients.

BRAIN Initiative Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

    As reported in an earlier Capitol Hill Report, the BRAIN Initiative at NIH received an increase of $140 million, bringing total 2018 funding to $400 million.
  • Organizations supporting the effort, including the AAN and the American Brain Coalition, gathered last week in Washington to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the BRAIN Initiative.

  • Meet a member of Congress: Join us for a Congressional Update and Q&A with US Representative Judy Chu (D-CA) on Monday, April 23, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in room 308AB of the Convention Center.
  • Presentation Stage: Search the program to see presentations on a variety of topics including ultra-high neurology drug prices, research in medical marijuana, TBI and domestic violence, and many more. Check the app for current schedule.
  • Polling Place: Cast your vote on a variety of issues related to advocacy and policy.
  • Selfie Station: Snap a photo and upload it to social media to promote #AANadvocacy.
